I purchased a large White Strelitzia 6 months ago, I am noticing the leaves are splitting, browning, and curling a fair amount. I also have Mealybugs, ants, and aphids on the leaves which I clean off regularly and treat with a pesticide. More recently I’ve seen small white centipede like insects flushing out of the pot into the catchment tray. It is still growing new leaves but they appear to be smaller than its predecessor. It receives 8 hours of sunlight and watered and fertilised on schedule. Any tips?

    have you considered a systemic pesticide? you water it in and the pesticides move throughout the entire plant, making the whole thing toxic to pests. they're also long-term (most will last two months before you need to treat again). your main concern here is the pests. splitting is usually a humidity problem, but we have bigger fish to fry here. that worm just looks like a millipede, which isn't necessarily harmful to the plant but can indicate root rot.

    Update: Plant appears to have worsened a week after repotting. Leaves yellowing and splitting, stems drooping and some bent/broken. Quite an alarming change despite new leaves growing. Any thoughts.
