Hi my fiddle leaf fig has gradually shown this browning and cracking on some of the leaves. Additionally, there is significant dropping now. I feel like it might not be bright enough but also im worried I might not be watering it enough. the plant is very large so watering can be a challenge. any advice would be greatly appreciated !

Hi! This sounds like it might be a mix of low light and underwatering. Fiddle leaf figs need bright, indirect light. The browning and cracking could be from the soil drying out too much, especially with a big plant. If water just runs off the top without soaking in, that’s a sign you should try to bottom water or loosen the soil a bit! I would suggest moving it to a brighter spot and watering more deeply when the top couple inches are dry. Hope that helps :)

thank you for the help! i have also noticed tiny webs and insects on a few of the leaves. i have read about the oils that i can spray onto the leaves and such. do u think this is a large issue or primarily the watering/light?

Hello I had so much trouble getting the watering right on my fiddle until I purchased one from Lowe’s and they had it in a self watering pot. I recently put my first fiddle in a self watering pot and it has done a total 360. Also fiddle leaf fig plants like humidity so I bought a humidifier for the plants and put the biggest one on a pebble tray
