Found this and a spider in the planter when watering. Is this a spider mite? My plant just 2 inch, how should I do pest control without killing my plant?

This is not a spider mite. Mites are much smaller. You can either do preventative treatments of All seasons oil or neem, or you can get a granular systemic also. You'll want to know what kind of plant you have because a few plants do not tolerate neem very well. Alternately, you can treat only when you see evidence of pest presents. If your leaves feel sticky be suspicious.
