New Plant Person!!! I’m very very new to the plant world and recently got this monstera. After reviewing other posts I think this plant may be over watered (bought it this way) only have had it a day or so and lightly misted it today. I also see these two pieces that feel and look very moist. There are also a few leaves that are…wilting and curling ? Like lettuce left in the fridge too long is the only way I can describe them. The room gets indirect light all day long and i have a humidifier in the room as well. I do keep a ceiling fan on only at night. (I’m not sure if this is bad ) Soil is moist throughout Should I wait a few days to see how the plant reacts to the new environment or change something immediately?

Plants take time to adjust to the new environment. It can take 2 -3 weeks. Don’t repot it during this period. Repotting adds more stress. Drooping leaves could be the plant adjusting. The roots tapping into the soil are aerial roots. It’s normal for them to find water. The ceiling fan helps with air circulation which helps dry out the soil. You will need it since the plastic pot is too deeply inside the outer pot which can block airflow. I recommend using a shorter pot or raising the inner pot until its rim is level with the rim of the outer pot. Water when the soil dries down or all the leaves start to go slightly limp.

I didn’t even think about a plastic pot being too far below the rim of an outer pot. You may have inadvertently fixed an issue I’ve been trying to deal with for a while now. Thank you!

I agree with Sunny. Also, I was surprised the other day to find out that there are so many different groups in this plant community. You might find some helpful comments if you put your question in the specific monstera group.

No need to duplicate posts. It’s discouraged per Planta’s guidelines. I think most users are viewing the Pest/Problems stream.
