My poor aloe vera turned completely brown a few weeks ago after being fed up with its cute flamingo holding rain water all the time. What would you do with this poor ugly little thing? I know they’re cheap, and easily replaceable, but I don’t know what I wanna do with it just yet. Should I cut it back? Toss it? Keep letting it be an eye sore amongst all of my other plants that bring me joy? Lol, stay tuned!

Aw don’t toss it unless it’s dead! Aloe Vera thrive in soil that is bone dry. Take it out, check the roots, cut away anything that has rotted, clean the remaining healthy roots with hydrogen peroxide or insecticidal soap then plant in succulent/cactus soil. Make sure that the pot has drainage. It might need a larger pot - but this depends on what you find when you take it out. Good luck 🙂

I hope your plant bounces back. Love mamatunas response to help. I’m just replying to say I love the flamingo pot. :)

Thanks! It was a gift from my mama, lol. Just wish it had a drainage hole. 😑😅

I think she’s sun burnt and over watered. Trying baking her an indoor plant during her healing process

It has 100% been overwatered thanks to rainy season and collecting water in the flamingo. I didn’t think it was possible for aloe to get sunburnt. It very well could be.

I leaned that the hard way. They are sensitive to direct sun for long periods.
