looks to me like an elaphant bush, they need a lot of light. if you don’t have any decent south facing windows in your home, purchase a grow light!

It definitely looks like an elephant bush! Put it in a south window if you can, the brightest window you’ve got, and in the windowsill if you can. You could be overwatering it. Try bottom watering it about once every 10 days, and make sure the soil is completely dry before watering. I use a bamboo/barbecue skewer to stick all the way down to the bottom to see if the soil is still wet or not. The app can tell you to water it a bit too early, so try changing the schedule to a custom setting in the plant’s settings to 10 days or to how many days it takes your plant’s soil to completely dry out. If the soil stays wet for multiple days, it might need to be repotted into a better draining soil. Is it in a pot with drainage holes on the bottom?

Self watering pots can often overwater succulents and elephant bush and jade plants. You might wanna to repot it in a Terra cotta or plastic pot with drainage holes and bottom water it. That could very easily help the source of the problem

If you want to repot it, please don’t use miracle grow’s succulent mix. It stays wet for way too long. My favorite brand atm is Espoma Organic Cactus and succulent mix (it’s about $9), and adding extra perlite to the mix can help. If there’s root rot, reduce the plant to its roots completely, soak the roots in a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water for 30 min, then cut the rotted roots are far up as you can. That might seem scary, but leaving rotted roots around will kill the plant even if you repot it. Give it at least a week before watering again, bottom water it, and let the water completely drain from the pot before setting it back in its spot.
