One branch of my inchplant seems to be dead or dying closer to the root, while the rest of it seems mostly healthy, including the same branch as it gets farther away. Should I remove the dying stem? Any thoughts on the cause?

Too much soil/too large a pot, if I had to guess from this photo. I'd cut the dead stem, snip the dead part off a little above where the stem turns healthy, and propagate it in water to regrow roots. I'd also repot this into a much smaller pot, maybe that holds about half that soil volume.
