I got this elephant ear recently and am just now noticing these tiny brown spots and some webs on it! Can anyone confirm or deny if this is spider mites?? What should I do to get rid of them if it is? Also they’ve been sitting with my other plants for about a week now and I’m worried that it has spread over it that’s the case! It was outside for several weeks before I bought it so it could be something else? Help!!

Definitely spider mites :( try to quarantine and clean the whole plant with neem oil

I just bought neem oil! How heavily should I spray it? And should I do it on the stems and soil too or just the leaves?

Spider mites for sure, check your other plants too. Rinse them down in the shower and then spray with a bug spray. You can use Captain jacks dead bug spray or you can make your own, there’s lots of YouTube tutorials.

I would dilute the neem oil in water but research online the recommended dilution/ratio, it can depend on the plant i think? and i would douse it pretty heavily, get all sides of the leaves and stems and it wouldnt hurt getting the top of the soil

i haven’t had to use neem oil too much, but in the past i have good luck when i repeat it like every other day, maybe once a week depending on how bad the infestation is

I use a regular sized spray bottle- 1 tbsp of neem and half tbsp of dawn dish soap or Castile soap. Spray as much as needed. I spray down the whole plants including stems, with what is left I’ll water my plant with it.

I bought one that says it’s already ready to spray instead of concentrated neem oil — do I still need to dilute that one or do you think it’s okay?
