Hi friends!! Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get rid of the little gnat type bugs in my plants soil?? I’ve cut back on watering, checked everyone for root rot(all good), adjusted the lighting situation for some… and there are still a few lingering.

Scoop out the top 2 inches of soil and replace with new dry soil. They lay their eggs in the moist top two inches of soil.

I use neem oil. Just put a tiny amount into the water once in a while and water your plants with it. I also have a neem oil+dish soap solution in a spray bottle, I mist my plants with it every month. Use it during the night, because neem oil can burn the leaves.

Using a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution worked for me using 2 tea spoons per cup of water

Mosquito Bits from Amazon. The sticky traps only trap the adults, but adults can lay eggs before they get trapped. The Mosquito Bits kill the larvae. You make a tea with it in a gallon of water and water your plants with it. It suggests you do that about 3 times. Someone else on here suggested to use toothpicks in the soil to count how many times you have watered it. I am currently in the middle of a mosquito bites regimen myself.
