Hello. I am fairly new to this plant life and I love it. I am concerned about my bird of paradise plant and would love some feedback if possible. There are these spots on it and I don’t know what to do to fix it or if it’s even able.

Looks like a watering issue. I’m going to assume overwatering and possibly root rot. Remove the soil and examine the roots. Remove soggy roots and change the soil. Cocoa coir, perlite and orchid bark is a good mix for these. They like to be moist but not soggy. You can cut some of the worst looking leaves but try not to remove more than 1/3 of the foliage for now. Pot size is also important, if the pot is too large they won’t be able to “use” all of the water leading to rot. Also I noticed the gnat sticky.. they thrive in the moist soil. I treat the soil with systemic granules and spray all plants monthly with a neem oil solution. Hope this help
