Hi! Our two girls here have been battling mealy bugs for about 3 weeks. We sprayed neem and they still didn’t go away. Then we took cotton swabs and individually took them off then washed all there vines. The bugs are officially gone but ever since they have been looking so sickly. I’m worried about them both. The first is a string of dolphins and the second is a string of banana. I need to know if there are ways I can help them to become healthy again or if they’re a lost cause at this point 😭😭😭😭😭

I’m sorry for your struggles. 🥴 I’ve been dealing with mealies myself. They are a pain. I’m finding consistency to be the key. Once a week I give the infected plants a spray with water, castile soap & insecticidal soap. And I check a couple times a week with rubbing alcohol, like you mentioned. But I had a few thoughts about how to help recovery. 😊 Do your pots have drainage holes? String of things tend to have very shallow roots. So there might be too much soil as well. 🤔 I prefer terracotta for my succulents. I’ve had much more success that way. It dries out quicker. They also need a good chunky soil & a good amount of light. I get grow lights if I don’t have a good window for them. And Hobby Lobby have these 6 inch shallow terracotta pots that might be a good fit if you decide to repot 😊

agreed with Cookie! and I would also definitely trim those dead stems/leaves as that just will breed other issues. you might have to downsize your pot after that based on what you have left. you can totally combine the string of dolphins and bananas as they have the same care. be sure to give them lots of light on the crown, as that will help them heal.
