I have a fungus gnat (I think) infestation and I canNOT get rid of them. For the past 1.5 months I’ve been religiously changing sticky traps in each pot, watering with hydrogen peroxide and ensuring the soil dries out completely between watering. Please help! I feel like the only thing left to do is throw all my indoor plants away which I don’t want to do!!

Get neem max and make a soil drench. It’ll knock em out :)

Thank you! I’m not totally familiar with soil drenching but thought it was for bugs that feed off the leaves? Would it work if the gnats are eating something in the soil too?

I find watering with mosquito bits to be helpful

Try using mosquito bits. Soak them in the water you intend to use for watering the plant affected. Repeat with every watering until gnats are gone. It might also be your potting medium. Miracle-gro is known for being infested with fungus gnats. If all else fails, moving your plants to a soilless medium, like LECA will do the trick.

this got rid of my fungus gnats in one treatment. i mixed a couple gallons and watered everything all at once with it. i didnt see any impact on the plants themselves, but the infestation was gone completely.

I also use a drop of this per gallon of water that I feed to plants and now I only see one rarely/occasionally.

Gnat death drops seem to be getting mine under control as well.

Do you have a link to the brand you’re having success with?

If you absolutely can’t get rid of them try and repot every single plant in your room. This was the only thing that worked for me.

You can also use Bonide systemic. It doesn’t kill the adults but will kill the larva that feed on the roots. You will still need the sticky traps for the adults till they die off. Plus the systemic kills other pests too and lasts for about two months. I just finished adding it to the last of my 150 plants.

One time I had them really bad.. and it was surrounding my orchid. When I repotted it, the roots were covered in eggs! I ended up losing the orchid after the repot due to shock.
