Possibly too much water. They do like to dry out well in between waterings. Those leaves won't green up again, so I just snip them off.
2 gillningarthat’s good to know, thank you!
0 gillningarRemove the dry leaf litter from the pot. That can become a disease problem as it decays and potentially attract pest insects that roses can't handle very well. Yours looks decent right now, but for future pruning try to keep the center open so there's good air flow between the canes
1 gillaoh okay!! i just cleaned them up, and it looks a lot happier!
1 gillaCheck for leaf fungus which can happen when water stays on the leaves especially overnight allowing mold and mildew growth. It’s common on roses. Avoid watering the leaves. Water early in the day to allow the sun to dry the plant. Use a commercial fungicide, if needed. Check for pests including spider mites and thrips. Check under the leaves. Both pests chew away at the leaves. Spider mites spread a sheet of fine webbing around the leaves. Treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Overwatering can cause yellowing as Springvision suggested. Insufficient fertilizer can cause yellowing. Roses need fertilizers with higher acid content. Try a rose fertilizer. 🪴🍀
1 gillathank you!!! i’ve added coffee grounds to the soil which it likes, but i probably need to do it more often! and i’ll definitely look into the oil treatments i’ve noticed the leaves being nibbled at
