Crazy alocasia lady

I’d love opinions on what could be going on with my black velvet alocasia leaves. About three months ago, all my new leaves started to get yellow/white dots. Even my corm propagations. I thought ugh spider mites so I treated all my plants for 3 consecutive weeks with alcohol, soap and water sprays. It keeps happening even after this. I decided to repot and look at the roots, no root rot. I use a low concentration fertilizer with every watering which is about every 2 weeks due to the humidity here in Florida. These are inside babies but get an open window for natural humidity. Chunky plant soil. Halp 😩

    What's the fertilizer ratio?

It is a 2-2-2 into a gallon jug

I would get a stronger fertilizer, that's extremely low

I was going to say it looks like maybe thrips or deficiency. Especially if you're getting it in corm babies.

      Are they fat or pointy?

They are chunky, dark colored and tend to fly out between my slip pots which is why I was thinking gnats.

This is what they look like.

It might be sensitive to the water if everything else looks fine. Are you using Florida tap water? Tap water can be hard in parts of Florida. The photo is of my recent purchase with layers of hard water deposits. Try using distilled or filtered water.

I use filtered water from our Brita tank…do you think I should switch to distilled?

The filtered Brita water should be enough. You can test a few plants with distilled water for a month or two to see if it makes a difference.
