Hey guys - I bought this plant 2 months ago and it already had some of these dark spots & it’s getting worse 💔my room is quite cold as I get too hot easily, and not massively sunny (both will change in April as I am moving into a big glassy/bright and warm apartment!) but how can I save it?!

It looks like a watering issue such as inconsistent watering or overwatering. It could also need repotting if the drainage is slowed by too much roots. Remove the plant to check for overgrown roots. Repot if need. Water only when the soil dries down at least half way or more. Don’t water by a strict schedule without verifying the soil needs water.

Thank you! And I should leave the leafs on which are brown currently, or trim them off?

You can cut them. Just leave enough leaves for photosynthesis until new leaves emerge.

What do ingrown roots look like? I think I need to look at my own plant that has similar issues. But I don’t know what I’m looking for in that

Actually sorry - another question - do you cut them close to the end of the stem, or further towards the base/roots to encourage the re-growth?

Cut the entire leaf off including all of the stem. Be careful to not cut into the main trunk.

Overgrown roots look like more roots that soil in the pot, the roots has woven it’s own wicker basket 🧺, or the roots are blocking the drain holes. Monsteras roots are thick. They can easily block drainage when then get numerous.
