Are the stem of the fronds on my dwarf coconut palm supposed to be this yellow? I talked to the worker at the nursery I got them from and he said it’s a characteristic of the tree, just seems a little too yellow to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I’m right your watering that plant way too much

That’s what I’m figuring as well. I’m going to start watering it 2x a week and see how that goes

Mine is a Majestic Palm, not a coconut, but when it started yellowing like that an arborist told me it needed more manganese. How established is it and when was the last time it was fertilized?

It’s about 2 months in and I put fertilizer in when I planted it. I definitely think I’m overwatering it as I was watering it every single day. I think what I’m going to do is start watering twice a week and go from there but I’m sure since I overwatered it the fertilizer dissolved too quick? Maybe I’ll look into the manganese though. Thank you!

Do you think I could add manganese to the base if I applied fertilizer 2 months ago? Also did you use a lot or just a little. And how fast did the yellow color start to disappear?

If manganese is the problem, it wouldn’t hurt to add more to the existing fertilizer. The arborist gave me the impression that most palms crave manganese and that they were more likely to short than excess 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn’t get much improvement in the existing fronds, but they were already pretty far gone. New fronds are coming in nicely though
