New plant owner here!! I saw these brown and semi translucent spots on my Guiana chestnut tree, or also called money tree’s leaves… just wondering if this is something I should treat, and if so, how? I’m trying my best not to kill this plant 😔 so any tips or comments would be appreciated!!

Is this a newer plant or have you had it awhile? I had this on my money plant when I bought it a few weeks ago, I read it’s from not enough light. I trimmed them off (internet said to) and I haven’t had any new ones and a lot of growth!

Hi, thank you for responding!! It is a new plant, I got it like 2 days ago, when you cut them off did you cut off the whole leaf at the stem??

I’ve always been confused with how much light they need because some say they like shaded areas and some say they love light but not direct sunlight

I found that confusing too! I’m still not sure if mine is getting enough light. I tried using the light meter but the light changes throughout the day so I’m just confused too lol

I trimmed from the bottom of the leaf because I didn’t want to kill the stem if I was doing it wrong! I also added fertilizer after I water’d because the app said to. I haven’t moved it out of its original pot either. I bought a moisture meter off that has been really great in knowing the right time to water!
