Can anyone help me figure out whatâs happening to my spider plant? Some of the leaves keep turning brown so I keep pulling them off.

Could be lack of drainage causing root rot. Or it could be that the leaves are old and dying off though I havenât seen my spider plant do that, mine is roughly the same size but only a year old. It isnât uncommon for the tips to turn brown though.
2 gillningarThank you, there are a lot of drainage holes so maybe itâs the soil not letting it drain well? Itâs in regular potting soil
0 gillningarAhh yes that could also contribute. Having a good amount of perlite and orchid bark in the soil can help with that as well. Perlite is an affordable option so even just having that in your soil mix will help. Also I would def look into the pot size versus root ball, if the pot is more than 2 inches bigger than the root ball in any direction then the pot is too big and will stay wet for too long causing it to rot
2 gillningarIâll definitely check this, thank you!
0 gillningarCheck the soil is completely dry before watering. Do not follow a strict schedule.

1 gillaThis is one of my plants that I like keeping in a clear nursery pot, and then Iâll drop that into a decorative pot. This way, itâs easy for me to pop it out and see when the soil is completely dry to the bottom. They have bulbous water storing thingies in their roots (Iâm obviously no expert haha) so they can last a while without watering, especially inside and especially in that type of pot. I have 2 inside and 3 outside, and I havenât watered the inside ones in well over a month. Sheâs getting some nice chunky roots and lots of babies đ
2 gillningarThank you! Definitely think I need to adjust the watering schedule
