Anyone know why my prayer plant is turning yellow? I bought this plant on Amazon and it arrived fine, next day most of the leaves curled up and died, gave it a trim and repotted because of soggy, compact soil and the plant itself separated into two when i removed it from pot. I just treated last night with neem oil. Also have a pebble tray under for humidity…

It’s probably just transplant shock. You may want to reduce watering a bit as the roots won’t be absorbing as much while they recover but if you just give them time and the appropriate amount of light and just keep an eye on the soil to make sure it doesn’t get too soggy, they should bounce back in a couple weeks or so. They might drop some leaves but they shouldn’t lose all of them and they’ll start growing more once they’ve adjusted to their new homes.

Shock. Trim off the yellows down by the node. Maybe let it dry a little this first time. After that, mine do the best not letting the top of the soil get totally dry (light moist should is good). I water at a 6 on the moisture meter (about every 3-4 days with well draining soil). The leafs will brown on the tips in the winter if humidity is dry in your area (it’s about 40% humidity in my area over winter). A humidifier helps for that. Bright indirect light is the best. They grow fast, so it will come back in no time. I propagate in water twice a year and add them back in the soil when the props grow long roots, in 3-4 weeks, to fill it out faster. Enjoy!
