Alley’s Crazy Plants

Hello there! I currently have been having some mysterious looking spots on my cebu blue pothos. Now the soil is a little too damp so it might be that and I have fungus gnats. And the little marks could be soil as the soil is the miracle gro indoor plant one and its very light and tends to get everywhere. Anyways, I’m hoping this isn’t thrips as I have been putting a mix of neem/peppermint castille soap/rubbing alcohol/water spray on it as well as my other plants. They do wipe off easily if that means anything 🤷‍♀️

I don’t see any major issues. Spots sometimes appear on pothos. My concern would be the need for yellow sticky bug traps. I would clear the infestation if you still have any. Letting the soil dry out more between watering can help.

Phew! Okay! I stressed so hard about this and worried. Thank you for the response. I’ll keep trying to aerate the soil to keep the gnats down. 💕

I recommend using Mosquito Bits in the water when you water your plants. It works very well to kill the larvae in the soil and breaks the life cycle of pests. I have over 130 plants and most live outside in summer. I don’t have fungus gnats infestations. I mix the product in water and use it every time. The instructions are on the package. The main ingredients is Bti, a friendly bacteria.
