I understand fully that this might not fall under the purview of this group, however. My backyard has been cursed with Stinkhorn Mushrooms. They smell so bad, not even my Terrier will go near them and he is a cat sh*t connoisseur. How might I treat my yard to rid myself of this pestilence?!

I have read that fungicides are not as effective on them since they grow from an egg like structure.

Fungicides may be less effective than digging up the “bulb/egg” structure they grow from. I’ve read they like alkaline organic soil. Try mixing in acidic materials like pine bark mulch and acidic fertilizer to produce a more acidic soil. I would try removing as many of the eggs as you can. In the worst case, I would remove a layer of soil. 🪴🍀

Sunny I really appreciate your tips. I was unaware there’s a bunch more under the surface. Thank you!!

No problem. These mushrooms are creepy and smelly Nothing like the picturesque scent free ones I get in my lawn once a year that quickly die off or the lawn maintenance guys run a mulching mower over them.

Turning the soil frequently can also help weaken mushroom roots

That’s a good point. It’s easier to do in a garden or potted plant. It’s harder to do in a front lawn where mushrooms show up on my property. The Home Owners Association (HOA) would object to me tilling the front lawn. 😁🪴🍀

Coffee grounds are acidic as well. Not sure what that would do to grass, but might be worth a shot. They encourage drainage and worms like them. ☺️

Well my yard already has patches as my doggos are extremely particular as to where they relieve themselves, a few more just wouldn’t hurt.
