My baby rubber plant is looking very dull and a bit sad i think? I noticed a lot of tiny new growth had dried up and died, which i picked off already. I water her according to plantas advice, and today the soil was BONE dry when i watered it. Plus she’s in a pretty low light spot, should i move her somewhere brighter? And possibly water a bit more often?

She looks crowded in that pot. But she looks good to me however if the babies have dried up and soil is bone dry then yes water a few days before planta says. I can't tell how much light it gets but it looks good in the picture

I agree about it looking crowded. Maybe just pop it out and check to see if it’s root bound.

Water it when it needs water. Don’t ignore the signs. Treat the Planta watering schedule as a notification to check if your plants need water. The watering software won’t know every variable about the plant or your home that affects the plant. 🪴🍀

I currently water mine every 11-14 days, and I’ve got them potted in cactus and succulent mix cause peperomias need very well-draining soil. The obtusifolia variety you have enjoys drying out more between waterings, so waiting until the soil is dry is more than alright for this plant. May I ask if you’ve been misting this plant? Misting doesn’t really help this plant if that’s the case, as their leaves are succulent-like in nature, and the misting could be contributing to the problems with the new growth lately. These do well in low light, but moving it to an east/west-facing window, or gradually transitioning it to a south-facing window should work just fine for your peperomia. Mine do just as well in north and south-facing windows, but I’ve gradually exposed mine to south-facing sunlight so I can keep them in a windowsill with my jade plants. Another possibility could be that other than the misting, that if it’s near a drafty window, frequently opened door or air vents/heaters, that could be affecting the humidity for the plant. They are from more humid places, but don’t tend to need a humidifier or misting when inside a house. They do not enjoy drafts, cold, or forced hot air, though, so if you find that might be the case, you can move it away from any such drafts to see if that improves things. My best guess would be that temperature and humidity changes, as well as the misting, are contributing to what’s affecting the new growth. You can check the roots too, if you’d like, but if you’re saying only the new growth is being affected, I would guess it’s not that it needs repotting yet. Mine enjoy being more snug in their pots and getting a little root-bound before it needs a repot. It also helps to keep them in smaller pots to lower the chance of overwatering them. Hope this helps!
