So… I brought this home for Valentine’s Day. I think it got overwatered because I’ve only watered it once since I brought it home and it’s still super moist. This is my current setup, but I’m scared it might also be rotting at the crown or something I have no idea about with this type of plant. Please help. Thanks to anyone for any advice 🙂

    It’s a cyclamen - expert/hard level plant so don’t get too discouraged.

Yes that’s what I had it in planta as because when I got it the tag actually had the real name of the plant instead of a really generic one lol.

It needs moist soil but I’d repot it with well draining soil. It likes part sun but can stand full sun. Only use rain or distilled water.

If it has root rot, address it immediately! You can look up photos but can tell if some roots have white ends. This case may be salvageable. Snip any super rotted root ends. Most importantly - make a 3:1 water to hydrogen peroxide mix and set the roots in after cleaning out old soil. Add orchid mix or any well draining soil mixes.

I don’t think it has root rot because I caught it early. I’m going to let it dry out for a day or two, put it back into its pot and repot later this spring once it goes into dormancy.

Unless someone has better knowledge of what to do 😉

Do not prune too much, only unsalvageable rotted roots, or you’ll do more harm than good
