I recently found out that almost my entire plant collection, apart from my succulents, has thrips. I already have a plan for getting rid of them but I would appreciate any extra advice, TIA

いいね 1件Rinse all the plants off in the shower. Then use an insecticide (I’ve heard good things about Safer’s End-All). Thrips can also live in the soil, so you might want to also water your plants with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 5 parts water.
3件のいいねHonestly as long as u are able to keep up on washing the leaves or smashing them with a sock you’ll be good, been fighting thirps for 6-7? Months and maybe once a week I’ll just check the leaves and wipe of any bad guys I see
2件のいいねPests are the worst! I treated my money tree in April for thrips. I did neem oil for more than a month and everything looked good with new healthy growth but, sure enough, a couple weeks ago I saw damage on new growth. I sent a note to a Planta expert, and he is recommending that I do neem oil, soap and shower down the plant every five days, and that I do this ~6 times for now. Then I am going to explore introducing beneficial insects/predatory mites. I prefer not to use systemic chemical pesticide. Good luck!
いいね 1件honestly, i’ve tried using neem before and battled thrips for months and months. it was a ridiculous amount of work for a couple plants 😭 then i just decided f it and used captain jacks insecticidal super soap. i kid you not, the thrips were gone within 2 weeks. my plants were totally fine and all still putting out new growth. i showered them after a day and then waited for the next round of eggs to hatch before repeating. make sure you spray in all the cracks and crevices of the plant. the thrips will hide anywhere they can. you can definitely go for an all natural treatment!! i just went for a more hardcore treatment bc i was sick of it 😅 i simply do not have the time or effort to fight thrips for months on end again. plants are supposed to be a hobby, not a stressor.
2件のいいねI’ll check caption jacks, looks like it for organic outdoor gardening, did you use it for indoor plants?
いいね 1件yeah i used it for indoor plants. spray outside though!! and let it dry for 10-15 minutes. i tried to drown my plants in the stuff and they got zero chemical burn or anything but the thrips were dead on contact. it was glorious!

Skip neem oil and home remedies and go nuclear. Rinse everything thoroughly. Get bonides systemic granules (makes the plants toxic to thrips). Follow up with Jacks Dead Bug Brew spray. Spray everything - top and bottom of leaves, stems all the way to the base of the plant. Treat your entire collection at the same time. Good luck!
