hey all! just got this begonia maculata and it is not doing great.... i've been keeping soil moist and bright light (in a window without direct sun), but the leaves are slowly turning crispy, not brown. At first they wilted a lottttt and then turned crispy. I spray water on my plants sometimes so maybe?? need help!

I have found that begonias do really well in semi hydro. I have mine set up in pon and it was pretty easy to transition. I never tried soil since I had planned on semi hydro when I got it.

I also almost never spray my plants. Too many chances for fungus. I know some people have an okay time with it but you need to have good airflow I believe.

      Humidifiers are my friend.

Do not mist begonias! They do not like it. Possibly keeping soil too moist. I let mine dry out a bit before watering. They thrive on humidity. Bathrooms, kitchens, or use a humidifier. Aim for 50-60 percent. And mine is under a bright grow light 12 hours a day.
