Hello! Does anyone know what these spots are on my indoor variegated musa? There are no pests and it seems to happen on leafs that are a few weeks old but not all of them. It seems to be growing well enough.

I'm sorry, I don't have any answers, but you just showed me another wishlist plant. 😍
0 likesThank you, it's a Musa Florida banana plant. It grows fast and can get very large when mature.
1 likeEdema? According to Tanner the Planter. You can follow them on facebook. Just make sure you follow the true Tanner.. they have half million followers is how you can tell. I have learned so so much from he and his wife!
2 likesIt could be sooty mold if they wipe off with a damp cloth. It could be edema like Buffy stated. Look on the back of the leaves for transplant spots that look oil soaked. Edema can come from the roots pushing out too much water to the leaves and stems. It can happen when the environment slows transpiration in the leaves. It can be caused by slow or no airflow, too much humidity, and too much misting, to name a few. Similar conditions can cause sooty mold.
