Is it a fertilizer for the plant?

From what I read it’s supposed to help with pests

Outside? Or on the plant? I have the plant inside

Think it can be used on both but it’s a powder from what I read so it is probably best to do outside not to have the powder mess inside. I just don’t know if it works.

Ants should be treated with ant powder pesticide at the mound to kill all at the source. You can use ant traps too . This would avoid harming beneficial insects with the Diatomaceous Earth (DE) powder. DE is fine like baking soda or pumice. It has good airflow quality because the fossil algae ‘skeleton’ that is DE is small enough to wedge in the exoskeleton of bugs. The bugs dry out when their outer shell can’t close up and air flow dries their innards. Good bugs are harmed too. 🐞 Plus, excess amounts on the top soil slows or blocks soil evaporation which leads to overwatering.

Pots are on slab but I see no mounds anywhere. I can treat the yard around my slab but am concerned about the ant pesticide on my plants.

I have never used ant traps before but will look into them

I would not spray any pesticides on the plants. I’ve tracked ants by leaving tiny bits of fruit or cracker crumbs close to the plants outside. The scouts call in a battalion of worker ants to move the bounty back to the nest. Easy to spot their bases as they struggle to move everything home.
