Hello, my Cactus Plant has begun to get skinny I am not sure why, can any expert out there teach me a thing or two on how I can bring it back to normal
I water about every 10 days I am not sure if that may be underwatering or needing more sunlight, I have it by a window but it doesn’t really get direct sunlight as long as my patio is right there as well, if it is recommended I can just put it in the patio instead for direct sunlight, I live in Palmdale Ca where it gets from 85-100 degrees daily
0 Me gustaIts not getting enough light. Which causes this elongation
1 me gustaOkay thank you so much! I will put it in direct light
0 Me gustaIf it's thinner with the spikes coming in at a consistent height, that's underwatering. If it's thinner with the spikes getting further apart vertically, that's etoliation/lack of light. Yours might have both problems, but start with light. It can take a long time for water thinning to even out, and etoliation never goes back to normal, so you might want to cut and propagate to improve appearances after you get correct care dialed in
1 me gustaThank you so much! I began to get worried, I will put it in a window with direct sunlight, do you recommend how long I should wait before next watering?
1 me gustaContinue your current watering schedule for now and watch over the next week or two to see if light is fixing the problem. If the issue continues, then try watering every 7 days
1 me gustaOkay will do thank you so much!
1 me gustaI think it’s reaching for light ! I would try moving it under a grow light ! Or in indirect sunlight
1 me gustaI moved it to direct sunlight hopefully it becomes healthy again, thank you!
