guys i do not know what to do about this plant 😭 it’s an ornamental pepper plant, the type you don’t eat just look at. brought home from Trader Joe’s 3-4 weeks ago and had been declining for the past two weeks. apparently they love water so i’ve been keeping the soil damp but not wet (idk i’m usually a succulent mom). i repotted a few days ago into a smaller pot w well draining soil just in case. the roots looked fine. it’s in the most sun i can give it without it being outside (which is an option just not a great one). it’s sooooo crispy i just don’t know what i’m even looking at. if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it šŸ™

Omg! I am so sorry it happened, it is a beautiful plant and I'd be so sad too if this happened. 😭 I looked around the internet but couldn't find any viable solution, hopefully someone would be able to help.... awww 😣 come back to life, beautiful Boilvian Rainbow!

i was having the same issue! everything i saw was about drooping leaves and needing to be watered which is definitely not the issue here. thank you for looking and the good vibes!!! šŸŒ¶ļøā¤ļø

It depends, but usually when a plant gets crispy like that it means it’s actually getting too much sunlight! I would suggest picking off the dead leaves and bringing it to a more shaded area. Even though it’s meant to be outside, many plants still prefer shaded areas and full sun (even from a window) can fry them up! I hope this helps a bit and that you’re able to save it in time! :)

i will try that! i suppose ā€œfull sunā€ doesn’t usually mean Texas heat & 95 degree days 🫠 i’ll move into some more shade and see what happens. thank you!!

Mine is outside (Missouri) & I water it every other day, or if it needs it. When the leaves droop, I water it & it recovers. I’ve had it for a few years & not flowering much anymore.
