I woke up and found a bunch of white stuff in the soil of my succulent. I use the succulent soil from Miracle-Gro. Does anyone know what this is? The plant is healthy otherwise (at least for now). Should I be concerned?

It could be mold or fungus. Make sure to not overwater and have good airflow. I find the Miracle Grow Cactus blend to be a little too dense and I always add additional perlite to it.

Thank you very much! I’ll see if I can repot and get something else to mix in with it

Yes, I agree with Thai Jade. Miracle Grow Succulent is not good on its own. Needs to be much grittier, which you can supplement. This is the soil I mixed up for some grapteveria cuttings. With faster drainage you will have less problem with overwatering and fungus.

To look at my soil mix, it’s hard to believe it’s what is best, but it is.
