I have been gifted this rubber plant. I’ve never had one before so I’m new to taking care of it. The leaves look like this. Is this normal or a bug of some sort?

No, not normal. Normal would be white spots more congregated along the outer-ish edges of the leaves (image attached). It’s hard to tell if the plant just needs a good cleaning. I would give my plant a really good wipe down (top and bottom of leaves) and then monitor closely to see if it develops again. These ones show dust and dirt REALLY well, which always tells me how dirty all my plants are around it 😂

Thank you for the response really appreciate it! I’ve painstakingly cleaned all the leaves one by one top and bottom and this does not come off.

Does it look like the leaves have been scratched or gouged? The second picture kind of reminds me of how a couple of my rubber plant's leaves looked after getting knocked around during a move. If that's what it is, it won't heal, but it doesn't seem to impact growth either.

Good thought but it hasn’t been moved around too much. I was thinking it might be mites damage . I’ve decided to treat it and change the soil and see where it lands after that. Hoping for the best! Thank you for the help!!
