Etiolation is caused by a lack of light, so water the plant only when the soil is completely dry and place it in direct sunlight.

0 gillningarI think it needs to be repotted into a smaller pot. The pot should never be more than about 2 inches in diameter to the root ball. It could be stretching as one user suggested, or a problem with the section of the roots that part of the plant is connected to. I would highly suggest checking the roots for rot. If the roots are dark, mushy, and easy to crumble or smell, it’s root rot. Roots should be firm and light in color when they’re healthy. Lemme know if there’s root rot and I’d be happy to walk you through how to treat it. And please don’t repot it in miracle grow’s soil. It’s horrible for succulents, even their succulent grade soil. I use Espoma’s cactus and succulent mix and it’s never failed me. If there isn’t any root problems, try to rule out issues with light, soil, or drainage. Jades need bright light from a south facing windowsill. I bottom water mine to prevent overwatering and attracting bugs. As for drainage, I keep mine in plastic pots with multiple drainage holes, but if you fear overwatering, try a terracotta pot with a large drainage hole. Hope this helps!
0 gillningarMy one question would be if it was bought in a self watering pot. I’ve found the box stores live putting plants in them, but they’re often plant killers, especially for succulents. If it’s currently in a self watering pot, or any type of pot with no drainage holes, please repot it in a smaller pot with drainage.
