How to stop thrips in soil like can they be suffocated for lack of a better term if the larve fall onto the soil?

    Diatomaceous Earth will deal with them in/on the soil. You’ll need to put a decent layer covering the whole top of the soil. Then try to make sure it stays dry. This needs to be done in addition to regular topical sprays for the duration of their life cycle.

    Systemic granules worked great for me when I was having an outbreak. Fortunately I caught it soon enough that not all my plants had them but I did end up giving systemic to them all because they kept spreading.
