Gnats. I have had a perpetual flow of gnats. Mosquito pellet water, diatomaceous earth, and sticky traps are in use but somehow they keep finding a way to live. Maybe I’m not using them right?? Help me! I have soooooo many plants so it is hard but I must get rid of these lil jerks. *I avoid overwatering but it has happened a time or two. Otherwise I let my babies dry up decently between waterings.

I had the same issue and it was driving me nuts! I really didn’t do much besides buy those Zevo things off Amazon & started bottom watering. Eventually I’ve noticed them less & less. I definitely think bottom watering is key! It took about 2-3 weeks for me to realize that I don’t see them anymore. Maybe just give it some time!

I love bottom watering! I feel like I got away from it when I wasn’t feeling great and now I’m in this pickle. Good reminder and might try some zevos. I’m over clapping all over the house 🤣

It’s part of the joys of summer. Could just need time. I’ve been using these drops and they’ve not come back. Idk if it’s the same chemical as your pellets.

Np! Just add 1 drop (can do 2) per gallon of plant water.

Keep going on the sticky traps. The mosquito water I'm not so sure about. When I've used a mosquito product I crush up the little pellet onto the surface of the soil and scritch it in a little I do not dilute it in water. I'm not sure that this would be the issue or not but just a thought.

You can also apply neem in the soil. In theory this would suffocate the larvae. The life cycle of a fungus gnat is 3 to 4 weeks with overlapping generations so you will have to be persistent in your treatment for at least that long if not a little longer.

I just redid my grow houses and I’ve been purchasing new babies left and right. I now have an insane infestation of gnats that are driving me crazy. I’ve tried peroxide mix and sticky traps and the numbers seem to be lower but not gone. I’ll do the nematode tea next to try to go after another stage of their life cycle and keep the three until I get them all

What’s worked for me is: 1) mosquito bits with every watering - 1 tsp of mosquito bits to empty 1 gallon milk or juice jug. Add a cup or two warm water. Cap and shake well. Fill the rest of the way with cool water. This attacks the baby gnats in the soil. 2) sticky traps - gets the adults.
