HEEELP!! This pest (thrips) is destroying my plants!!😫😭 I have a *Guaco* plant (Mikania glomerata) that’s in a pretty bad situation.. because I didn't want to use any toxins —thinking it wouldn't be great to make tea from it later... 🥲 I had cleaned all the leaves with vinegar and cut off the infested ones... but I got back from a trip and it's in a terrible state.🥺 What should I do friends??
Get some predatory mites asap? Or use alcohol, not vinegar. Alcohol actually kills things and vinegar is hit or miss on insects without prolonged contact. I’d also trim off all the dead material and maybe a full dunk under some hot castille soap water to wash away what thrips you can

I’m in the same boat, I meant to do all the soap etc but haven’t been able to yet, but just with a thorough rinse of the worst affected plants under a tap, a few repots of the very worst (some of my pothos needed to be chopped and propped) and some predatory mites seems to have helped a lot. I’m still seeing some damage so know I have more to deal with, but it’s limited to a few leaves now instead of whole plants so gives me hope. Finally started spraying some of them with potassium soap today and got a new delivery of mites 🤞🤞🤞

0件のいいね I’m in the UK and I found sachets on Amazon. I thought I needed tons and tons but realised I could use a sachet across a couple pots if they’re close together. I think I got 10 sachets for £17, so definitely not cheap, but less expensive than replacing all my plants 😭 It was less money per sachet if you got more but you have to use them all at once so didn’t make sense for me and this many seemed okay for around 25-30 plants in clusters.
