Curious what this may be and how to treat it. My first guess is scale and to treat with rubbing alcohol but I’ve never dealt with this and would love some advice. Thanks.

    I think at least some (most) of this is just natural corking — the plant turns woody to support more/new/heavier growth. the top of the paddle in the third picture is a little weird, but could just be a response to mechanical damage or something old
