What’s going on with the my moth orchid :( have had it for 6 weeks now and was blooming beautifully. I don’t know if it’s diseased. Any experts that can give advice or identify the problem would be great. Any help suggested is greatly appreciated

My guess is the blooming cycle is coming to an end. Orchids don’t stay in bloom indefinitely. The inflorescence will die. Over the next year, the plant will put on another leaf or two, some more roots and gather its resources for next year’s bloom show. That’s assuming you are not seeing any signs of decline on the plant itself. Also, you might consider posting this in the Orchid Oasis forum. There are lots of people there that are happy to help.

Orchid food is probably what you’re missing. When they are in bloom they take so much water and fertilizer. Missorchidgirl on YouTube is where I learned everything. She’s really good.

Oh yes. There is different types for each cycle. I believe there is 3. Orchids are a whole other ball game than regular plants. I’ve had a few. I want to try again when I have more space.

I mean do you use ice cubes, water it like a normal plant or do you soak it?
