Rust? I have this on several of my philodendrons. The white specks don’t move so I’m not thinking mites. Any ideas? I’ve started treating two weeks ago with a fungicide, but it’s hard to say if it’s working or not

Its scale! Keep it away from all of your plants. I use one tablespoon and dish soap in a large spray bottle and fill the rest with water. You might need to repot in new soil and sanitize the pot to be safe!

This is unfortunately a rust fungal infection. Common to Philodendron species. Treat all affected plants with a fungicide. It’s easily treated ☺️

I’ve been treating with Arber fungicide. I lost my HUGE monstera to rust last year 😢. Now, just to make sure, I’m treating with Insecticidal soap based on the comment related to scale. Honestly, I don’t think the Red Congo is scale, based on images I found last night. BUT I have a Florida Green ghost that I’d asked Planta about and didn’t get a definitive answer (or maybe it was rust) but it seems a little more like scale, than rust. Plants equal pests. “Fun”
