Pink Princess advice please. Yesterday I received a pink princess that was apparently just slowly getting worse. I had a look and there was no roots and the tip on its bases (and what were roots) was just a smelly brown mush. I have cut the bottom off with space to a node and drastically dropped its pot size down. I have also sealed where the cut was made and added a touch of water with half fertiliser to it. I believe she was potted in pumice which was drenched so trying to give her a break from excess water. Is there anything else I can do to help her or just wait and see if she starts to recover?

If there are no roots, I would try to reroot it in moist sphanum or perlite in a bright location (on a window sill or under a 14 hour LED). Chances of rerooting directly into soil are very low, especially without better light

Thank you. It’s in a mix of perlite, horticultural grit and seramis soil at the moment as I’m going to get more supplies for my potting mixes tomorrow (I’ll have perlite on its own then). She’s in a nice bright spot that isn’t too direct from sunlight. The medium she was in was just completely saturated and dripping wet even after a week of not being watered so had to improvise at 10pm in the night

Seems you did the right thing for it! Nothing like doing an emergency repot in the dark!

Thank you. I could tell immediately that it was over watered so needed to get her into something more suitable asap

She now in perlite as per your suggestion and in a lighter spot until she perks up. Thank you
