False shamrock gone downhill in the last day. I watered it yesterday as it was dry and now it’s just gone limp. Not sure if it wasn’t enough light or the watering. Moved it to a bright window for now. Anything I can do to help it out? I’m wondering if the pot is too big and needs downsizing Thank you in advance

I have mine to the left of a big east facing window in a 1:1 peat:perlite mix

because yours looks to be reverting back to green, that’s usually an indicator of not enough light — and because of that it might be sitting in water too long. the fast drying mix I use works well for this reason. i also find that too much light stops oxalis from sending out flowers

It’s the one plant I haven’t changed the soil for as I went on holiday. It’s now in an East- East/South facing window. Think I’m going to switch out its soil for a chunkier mix and let it dry out for a a few days. Thing is I don’t know how it was cared for while I was away so I may of watered it once since being back but damage may of already been done. I swear bushy plants are not my friend yet alocasias I get on great with 😂

To be fair it was really dark when I got it so it has actually brightened up a little since. Really thinking it’s a root issue

alocasia well that’s a gift! oxalis is basically a weed so it will bounce back as long as the rhizomes haven’t rotted, and I doubt they have — good luck!

they’re kept in darker conditions for st pat’s sale so that they’re bursting with flowers I think

I agree with eatyacarbs that more light might help. Also wanted to check - do you bottom water / let the plant soak? These guys are pretty thirsty, so it’s possible that if the water just ran through the pot, it may have not been able to absorb enough water, which can lead to drooping.

Bottom soak most of my plants unless they like being on the drier side. Think it’s a look at the root jobbie

Hello! Mine seem to love bright direct morning sun so putting it next to the window was a great move. Mine wilted a couple times in the past as well. They bounced back probably some hours after being watered deeply. I find mine to be very fast growers so check if root bound. If root bound, they are drinking faster than you can water.

I figured out what was wrong. WAY too much soil. Probably to be able to sell it in the larger pot size
