PLEASE HELP. Sorry not the best pictures because my phone camera sucks. What are these bumps on the back of my pilea leaf 😭 I moved this guy to a new location a couple months ago because I believe it was getting too much sun in the old spot. The leaves were turning pale lime green and there was some redness which I assume was sun stress. Today I just noticed these gross bumps on the back of the leaves. It’s on a lot of the new leaves and sort of looks like it could be where the pores are? I am wondering if it’s overfertilized. I don’t know what else could be the problem. I only water it when dry. I don’t think there are pests…nothing is moving. I water with tap water, but I always have used tap water on this plant. Could it be edema? Also, the humidity in the room has been way up the past week or so because this other plant I got needs humidity of 60-70%. Thank you!

Do they come off when rubbed?

Nope. Just tried using my nail and then a wet paper towel

I heard blister like bumps on pilea can be from pests or overwatering. Maybe try going for a bit longer in between watering or checking the soil?

I know you said you water when dry and there’s no visible pests but maybe they could be hidden?

Ugh I hope it’s not pests 😭 I’m so careful and haven’t introduced any new plants to my plant room. And all newcomers get systemic granules, captain jacks spray, new soil, and thorough inspection

Pretty sure those are normal (but not sure what they are). I’ll see if they show up in any of the pics I have of mine

This is from one of the stock images of this Planta, zoomed in. None of my pics showed it well.

Okay good…I’ve seen some of the white ones on other leaves but this one confused me because they’re black/red. Thanks for your help!!

My plant has those and I tried to scratch them off damaging some leaves in the process. I then figured out they were normal.

Thank you! I swear my pileas stress me out more than any other plants šŸ˜‚ idk what I’m doing wrong because I know everyone else considers them ā€œeasyā€ 🤣

Mine stressed me out too until I quit freaking out about every little change. Let the soil completely dry out between waterings and it should be fine without much mothering

This is just the money plant leaves ā€œporesā€. It’s how they get rid of excess mineral buildup from waterings. Totally normal, every money plant will have them they just become more noticeable if you have a high mineral content in your water

Thank you! We do have pretty high mineral content in the water here. I have to give my finicky plants distilled lol
