This is my polka dot plant… for some reason he’s super leggy and just keeps getting taller. I’m not sure if it’s the soil or lighting or something else. He seems healthy, he’s just super tall compared to most polka dot plants. Any suggestions?

Pretty! But yeah, she needs to fluff out. I’ll be interested to learn how you’re going to accomplish this.

I have a bunch of props living in water… I change the water weekly but some leaves continue to get dead ends and brown spots. I don’t know why, especially because I add a tiny bit of nutrients to the water.. but I noticed when I do I have to change the water after 24 hours because the water will stink. It’s very annoying lol… because I like them growing in the prop tubes they look so cute. I have light pink, hot pink, red, & white spotted ones. And then I have a whole plant in water, a pink one like yours (it actually looks exactly like yours, very leggy with big leaves)….it continues to stay leggy as well even though I see little leaves growing in the spaces between the big leaves. I’m not sure what I want to do with it. I’m thinking about propping it as well… or maybe putting in a self watering pot with pon since it’s got a good water roots system now.

I noticed the same thing with mine, I cut it down almost completely, and very soon after it has almost filled out the pot again. I also put the clippings inside a terrarium and they are thriving!

Needs a good chop to help growth x

I had the same issue with my polka dot plants. The lower leaves started to dry out. I thought it was lack of light but it turns out these plants need to be trimmed back periodically. Cut them back and they will grow back very quickly. Just a side note, I tried to water prop the stems I cut but only one cutting survived.
