hey so i have a pretty bad outbreak of thrips in my collection and honestly i dont know where to start! what are some tips not just the basics like im spraying them down with oils and insecticidal soaps (not mixed together but interchangeably). i’m going to get a actual thrip specific spray asap but ive been watering it with a thrips killing agent (i have no idea what it is my boss gave me it when i was working at a plant store) so i thought it would be enough but it doesn’t seem to be. open to ur weirdest hacks!!

I had to use systemic insecticide to get rid of thrips. I couldn’t get a hold on them. They lay eggs in the leaves so topical may not be enough.

i’m pretty sure that’s what i’m watering with but i’ve been using a very light had with it cause im scared of it accidentally getting onto something that my cat would touch and end up hurting her? should i be watering them really thoroughly with it?

With systemic you should apply the granules directly to the soil. I mix them into the top layer then water them in!

I only water lightly the first time so I don’t wash them out. Then back to normal watering. If you’re worried about the cat you may want to try to move the plant somewhere? I don’t think touching it would be a problem but eating it for sure would not be great
