ready for winter to be over…. why is this hobby so hard? sometimes I feel so discouraged when I see my plants struggling even though I do hours of research on each one. is it just me?

I feel you. Sometimes I wonder if all my research just hurts my brain in the end, because I get confused on what to do when and how on which one. {Sigh...} Glad it's not just me. #thestruggleisreal
2 Me gustayes you get me!! and the internet gives conflicting advice
2 Me gustaAnd they doesn't understand... I have ADHD, so it's really ALLLLL or nothing. I get ALLLLL the info and then do nothing with it. 🙃
3 Me gustaSometimes doing nothing is the right thing to do! I’ve gotten frustrated that everything I try doesn’t work (I’m talking to my succulent plant survivors that are blooming and thriving on their own)! So, I just do the minimum like giving water, fertilizer, placing them near bright light and lowering my expectations. I don’t even bring them in for winter. They survived the freeze and came back stronger. I kinda resent them a bit. 🤣
4 Me gustaI love this ❣️

You are definitely not alone
3 Me gustaTotally agree with you all. It was getting frustrating trying to figure out what is wrong. Blaming myself. Tiff I’m with you, it’s perfect or it’s my fault. Old guy here with ADHD. But I look how well so many are doing and realize I’m maybe doing a good job and besides this is supposed to be for fun. Have difficult plants that are doing amazing. That’s how I balance it out in my head. I have also given myself a new rule, if a plant is not giving me joy, I get rid of it. But that’s still kinda hard sometimes. And only had to do it a few times.
2 Me gustaI couldn’t agree more!
0 Me gustaPhil that is brilliant. It IS supposed to be fun and I have to try very hard to not let my personality trick me into making it's more than it is. And I'm definitely going to embrace your philosophy of rehoming any plant that makes me question myself. Thank you for putting it all back into perspective. 🧡
