What do you do to discourage mosquitoes from breeding in the plant trays under your pots? I have been trying Mosquito Bits but I’ve found them a little messy when we get these torrential rainstorms we get here in North Texas. My “bug guy” tells me to add dish soap to my watering trays underneath the pots. Is there a risk of harming the plants if they soak up water laced with dish soap through the roots?
I dump the extra water as soon as I see it.

I used them mosquito bits in water, soak for least 1 hr sometimes longer, then water the plants with them, kills them and any eggs in the soil, not used on mosquitos but fungus gnats, works extremely well, had them everywhere, nearly got rid of them in a couple days, fully gone in a week, think you can leave them on top of water around the base, but used for watering worked best for me, I use a sive to remove the bits and dispose of them, as the water now had what it needs to kill and prevent them returning

0 gillningar You don’t need to do all at once. I did on the days the plants required water did for about 2weeks . I also used the sticky traps in all the pots, yellow ones worked best, also had a couple of the long round sticky glow in the dark sticks. And not had any fungus gnats for a lot of months
