Hello everyone, I just got an hydrangea yesterday evening. It was looking perfect, until i came home and found it droopy like this. I was wondering what is wrong with it.. Did I get an unhealthy one or did I do something wrong afterwards.. I didn’t water it yet, I just put it next to my window so it could see some sun today.. I’d really appreciate it if someone help me bring it back to life again!

Ooh she’s just looking like she needs a good watering :) she’ll come back up . Give it a good soaking making sure the water runs out of the bottom completely.

Check the roots too and if they are root bound I would repot her in the next size up!

Oh that’s a good idea i should check. As it just arrived, should I wait a couple days before repotting, or should I do it as soon as possible since it's very droopy?

I would do it as soon as possible, just make sure you have a terracotta pot that’s the next size up!

when you water, water the actual flowers. like petals face into the water, if they are cut.

Can I ask you to elaborate on what you mean by if they are cut?

Is it cold where you are living? It looks like cold damage

I live in vancouver so it’s kinda chilly here but nothing extreme. My house is super warm though around 23-24 degrees celsius.

If it was lower than 10 degrees Celsius and wasn’t wrapped that would really explain! I work at a greenhouse and they are meant to keep in the same pot if someone wants as they’ve already been up potted. A plant won’t decline within a day from being root bound. If the leaves continue to stay droopy after a good soak and get darker you’ve got your reason! Nothing you did!
