yall i just got this fern leaf cactus in the mail from an Etsy shop….is this a scale infestation ?!

    it looks exactly like the scale that was on my monstera when I first got it so I’m gonna go with yes!

      this is what mine looked like and unfortunately because they were so badly infected I had to chop these leaves off and anything else that looked like that and going forward I have been using a neem oil solution and checking my plants every day for pests or diseases so that way I can try to catch things before it’s too late and he’s been thriving ever since so I suggest just chopping off everything that’s too far gone and using neem oil or some type of insecticide spray and see if you can prevent it from spreading any further

    I can’t tell from the photo. Scale insects can be scraped off to expose the legs and other parts underneath or the babies underneath. If they are scale, then, scrape off and wipe down the plant with neem oil.

    some would not scrape off without damaging the leaf…it’s like they’re embedded in the leaf. i had to remove alot of leaves and i sprayed the remaining with neem oil and insecticide soap. i’ve contacted the grower about this. her plants were supposed to be pest and diseased free 😔
