My calathea has been doing really well until its newest growth started to brown. What could be going on??? I am not overwatering but also not letting it dry completely. It has bright filtered light and a pebble try for humidity. đ”âđ« (The brown tips on larger leaves were from before I bought it and I havenât noticed them get any worse)
Wondering if i should just chop the leaf off and hope the growth does good.

Have you had a chance to look at the root health? I know itâs hard to want to disturb the roots, but you could tell so much from it!

1 gilla If the new growth was coming in before you bought it, the new environment could be the reason for its yellowing also. I think chopping it and maybe even a fungicide or diluted hydrogen peroxide wipe through could help combat and fungal/pests problems that we canât see. Hope this helps!

is that new growth or a smaller old one? it looks like an old one based off the position and size of leaves
0 gillningarItâs a smaller older leaf but Iâm assuming the ânewestâ growth. Hasnât grown anything new in the few weeks Iâve had it.
0 gillningar if its the oldest leaf, its probably nothing to worry about and is just making room for the new leaves :)
