My calathea has been doing really well until its newest growth started to brown. What could be going on??? I am not overwatering but also not letting it dry completely. It has bright filtered light and a pebble try for humidity. 😵‍💫 (The brown tips on larger leaves were from before I bought it and I haven’t noticed them get any worse)

    Wondering if i should just chop the leaf off and hope the growth does good.

    Have you had a chance to look at the root health? I know it’s hard to want to disturb the roots, but you could tell so much from it!

      Roots were beautiful when I repotted I will check again soon carefully

    If the new growth was coming in before you bought it, the new environment could be the reason for its yellowing also. I think chopping it and maybe even a fungicide or diluted hydrogen peroxide wipe through could help combat and fungal/pests problems that we can’t see. Hope this helps!

    is that new growth or a smaller old one? it looks like an old one based off the position and size of leaves

      It’s a smaller older leaf but I’m assuming the “newest” growth. Hasn’t grown anything new in the few weeks I’ve had it.

      if its the oldest leaf, its probably nothing to worry about and is just making room for the new leaves :)
