Peacock plant, lower leaves are all brown and crispy? It looks so compact down there…does it need a bigger pot?

    depends. if you pull it out of the pot and the roots are circling, it's time for a repot. if not, consider other options— are you watering with filtered water? what's the humidity like? or, most likely, those are just old leaves that aren't that useful anymore, so the plant is getting rid.

    Would definitely suggest pruning off dead or dying leaves. But other than that, I absolutely agree with plantgeek’s comment on here!

    as long as there’s new leaves coming out, don’t worry about it! I had a few calathea that did this and usually it’s just the leaves growing, serving its purpose, and then dying (fulfilling its cycle).

    Calatheas are SUCH divas. Mine did this to me. Leaves kept drying off and falling off until I finally figured out a watering schedule she liked, though she had lost about half her leaves by then. But she’s going strong now! Mostly keep her well moisturized and with plenty of humidity
